There's a popular phrase from Layi wasabi and it goes…
Info leyan fi n fo.
There's this hustle and bustle that Nigerians delve in. Everyone is multitasking. Everyone is versatile. My neighbor is a forex trader, a caterer and also a okirika cloth seller. Na every morning she dey remind me say na mumu dey go boutique. One morning, she was so elated and so I asked her to ja mi si because the only thing wey go fit make her happy na how to make more money. So she told me of her plan to borrow a 100 thousand because a fellow forex trader promised he would double the amount.
I've never seen anyone so happy to run into debt. I've never seen anyone so happy to chop quick breakfast.
Just recently, she sent me a message

She later came and narrated her ordeal. How she had sent the message to 20 people and even added two more as jara for them and didn't get anything.
But don't blame her. She's only a Nigeria.
Yeah,I haven't introduced myself. Abeg no vex. I'm Segun. I'm a graduate but I dey try make ends meet.
I just received an info from my best friend, Toyosi. She no dey waste time update me about job opportunities and anything legal wey dey bring money. So I print out my credentials. I skipped breakfast because no time to waste time and embarked on the journey. Journey to Mushin from Ikorodu. I should have known that nothing would come out from this trip.
Nigerians are like strangers living in a multi -tenanted house.

I sat in the first row of the yellow danfo bus going to Mushin. Soon, it was time to leave and I don spread my leg until one madam beg say make I allow hin pikin sit for the engine side.
E kon bi like face me I slap you for inside bus.
I got to the venue but I was shocked. You're not expecting this I promise you. The place was looking like a deserted pure water factory but I gathered the remaining grains of faith that I had and entered the compound. To my surprise, I saw about 30 people seated with a white board in front of them giving back to school vibes. I was about to leave when someone probably one of the organizers answered the question in my mind.
“you’re in the right place sir, have a seat”.
“Okay maybe na training for the job. Must be a good job. Companies dey do that thing”, I assured myself.
“Nigeria is one of the poorest countries in the world because the system that was introduced by those who colonized us is still in usage. The movers and shakers of the world don't want anyone to know the secret and that is - a 9 to 5 paying job won't make you rich. You have to create a company from the scratch, build your own franchise or tap into an existing one and that is what we're offering you.
You just need to drop 25k and refer as much people to drop that amount. The more people you refer, the more rich you become and of course there are added benefits. I tell you the system is against us”.
“So you mean there's no job here but I should drop 25k and bring more people to drop the same amount. But sir, you began with Nigeria is one of the poorest countries. How does this fit in?”, A lady asked.
She didn't wait for the response but stood up to take her leave and so did I.
Another day we go fly. Let me land first.
